Welcome to podcasting for coaches. I'm Britany Felix and I'm a podcast launch consultant who specializes in helping coaches and consultants utilize the power of podcasting as a way to build brand awareness and generate new leads for their business. I realize not every new coach or consultant can afford to hire someone to help launch their show. So I created this podcast as a way to guide you through the process of launching and utilizing your very own podcast to help you grow your business and reach a new audience of adoring followers and potential clients. If you're ready to get your voice and podcast out into the world, head over to podcasting for coaches.com to learn more. Welcome to Episode 109 of podcasting for coaches, this is probably going to be a pretty short episode. I know every time I say that, I feel like it goes on for like 20 minutes. But I think this one will be pretty short because we've about one topic we're talking about today. And there's not a lot to cover on it. But they're also kind of is in a way. So you may have heard recently about private podcast. both Apple and Spotify have announced within the past month or so that they are going to allow private podcast on their platforms, so that you can put your podcast behind a paywall, and people have to pay to subscribe to it. So you might be wondering if this is the right choice for your business, and if this is how your business can utilize private podcast, I'm going to say right here off the bat, I think that is a terrible idea. If your podcast is the only way that you are making money, so if you are a full time podcaster and this is your bread and butter, then it's something to consider. But that's not who you are. You are a coach or consultant who's using a podcast as a tool to grow your business, expand your network, expand your reach in your audience bring in new leads a whole variety of things. And those things kind of depend on getting your show out in front of as many people as you can. So putting it behind a paywall is actually going to do the opposite. So we want to make sure we leave your podcast free. Now if that's the case, how in the world could you possibly utilize private podcasts. So this is where I'm gonna reference you back a little bit to Episode 108 with Dr. Lindsay Padilla from Hello audio, and even actually Episode 107. We touch on this briefly with Elsie Escobar from Lipson where we talk about how Lipson just acquired a platform that does private podcast feeds as well. But I'm going to focus more on using something like Halo audio because I have an exciting announcement. I have been so impressed with Halo audio and the idea behind it. I do not get caught up in a lot of podcast tools. I don't like the whole shiny object syndrome. There are brand new podcast platforms and tools and services popping up what seems like daily, and most of these will fade out they will not be successful, they do the same thing that 10 other things can do. And they're just not special. Hello audio I don't feel is that way. If you listen to Episode 108, you'll hear why I think it's different from pretty much anything else out there offering private podcast feeds. But for the purposes of what I think you can use it for for your business, a private podcast is kind of exactly what it sounds like. But it's not behind a paywall. At least not in terms of a subscription and not for your actual real podcast. So what I mean by that is, it's content that you can put out that people can consume like a podcast. Perfect example back to that exciting announcement. I today just launched a brand new course for how to do a self audit of your own podcast. Now I offer one on one podcast audits where I can come in. And I learned a little bit about your objectives and your goals for the show and who your audience is. And I do a thorough review of every single thing about your show depending on which package you purchase. And I can give you some direct feedback on what's working well, and what I think you should tweak to help make your show more effective. Well, I have now created this online course where you can go through that process yourself. I give you all the same information that I'm looking for when I do an audit so that you can perform your own audit and I have decided to use Hello audio to deliver this course in podcast form. So how this works is you go to my website, you purchase the course on there and then through some techie magic using Zapier. Hello audio then sends you a unique A link that you can then use on pretty much any podcast app that allows private audio feeds. Now, I will say right now, at this particular moment in time that this episode is being released, Spotify does not allow them so you cannot listen to the course, or anything from Halo audio on Spotify. But they have just very recently announced that they will be changing this in the future. We just don't have a date for that yet. But you can listen to it on Apple podcast, Google podcasts, overcast podcast addict, and a whole host of other platforms that allow you to actually submit a private feed. So when you click that link, you choose which podcast app you want it to open up in, it then opens it up for you. And you just hit the subscribe button. And there it is my course right inside your podcast app, so you can consume it, just like a podcast. Now you can do this for your online courses. And you can also do this for membership content, exclusive bonus content or recordings for memberships. Maybe you have live monthly calls. And this is how you can deliver the content to your listeners. Maybe instead of doing an email newsletter, you want to do a paid podcast newsletter for your members. Maybe you have coaching calls with your one on one clients. And you want to have an easy way for them to go back and listen to these if they ever want to in the future. You can create a private podcast feed for each client. There are a whole host of other ways that you can use private podcast feeds. And hello audio in general, they actually did just recently as in like, two days ago, from the time This episode is being released, announce a whole host of new features that they're going to be rolling out soon, to open up even more possibilities for how you can use these private podcast feeds or your business. One way that I am looking into starting to use is when I have people contact me for one on one launch packages. When we do the initial discovery call. I always follow that up with a proposal or an estimate. Well, I am toying around with the idea of then creating basically a mock podcast with some type of image from their website or social media. And then creating just a little audio file in there just saying thank you for the call, I look forward to hopefully working together. And hey, isn't this really cool for you to see what it would look like to have your podcast in the various podcast apps. And so it just kind of a little thing to make me stand out. And it's not necessarily limited to just people who do Broadcast Services. You could do this for each person, if somebody is interviewing three different life coaches, or three different health coaches or business coaches or whatever it is that you do. And they've spoken to three different people, and you send them this little cool audio link afterwards that they can play and listen to, that is definitely going to make you stand out. So this is just something that I want you to be aware of, I want you to avoid doing paid podcasts on Spotify and Apple podcast, because that's a paywall for your podcast in general. And if people do want to pay for it, that means they can only listen to the show on that particular platform. And that's not what we want. We don't want to alienate your audience, we want to give them more ways to listen. So using something like hello audio is a great solution for that. But again, don't put your main podcast behind a paywall use it for these extra bonus things, use it for your memberships, your online courses, your one on one, zoom calls with your clients, all of those things. Now Hello, audio actually does allow video to audio conversion. So it will do that right there for you. It will even create transcripts depending on which account you have. So I have been talking about Hello audio. I am an affiliate for it. But I only became an affiliate after learning about it and how awesome it is, and knowing I was going to use it in my own business. So if you want to sign up for Hello audio, there will be a link in the resources for this episode. Just go to the show notes podcasting for coaches calm, click on the episodes tab in the main menu and go to episode number 109. That's also of course where you can find the link to my brand new podcast self audit course. And just as a little teaser, something I am going to be offering at some point this summer, not quite just yet. But I will actually be offering special packages for people who want me to take care of making their audio sound pretty for using something like hello audio to release like an online course or a membership program. So instead of doing podcast editing, I can do private podcast feed audio editing. I'm gonna have to workshop that name a little, but I think you get the idea. All right. So this is a very quick episode. And I hope that this shed a little bit of clarity on private podcast feeds and how you can actually use them in your business. If you have any questions, please feel free to follow up and definitely go check out that podcast self audit course. If you want to make sure that your podcast is the best that it can be. Have a fantastic day And that wraps up another episode of podcasting for coaches. If you'd like to connect with me further, you can do so on Instagram at podcasting for coaches. If you know it's time to finally get serious about starting your podcast, go to podcasting for coaches comm and click on the work with me tab in the main menu to learn more about my one on one launch consultation packages or my self paced online course. And I look forward to seeing the podcast that you create and put out into the world.
